Sotheby's recently launched a 124-piece sneaker collection under the simply stated title "Heat." The collection includes everything from ultra-rare pairs, samples, and shoes that time forgot. All 124 pairs are available for individual bidding and range from $300 to over $10,000.
The "Heat" collection primarily comprises Air Jordans, Dunks, and Air Force 1s. The 124-piece assemblage features shoes, both new and old, shoes that have been in the mainstream and some that are considered to be urban legends. The Nike Air Force 1 Louis Vuitton, the swan song of the late Virgil Abloh, is available along with a sample pair of his Air Jordan Off-White Retro HighOff-White "Chicago." Many musician collaborations are up for auction, including a two-pack of sample NERD x Nike Dunk Hi's that all group members have autographed. The Christopher Wallace (Biggie Smalls) Air Jordan 12 and multiple pairs of Eminem Air Maxes can also be yours if you cast the winning bid.
There are also a lot of collaboration pieces up for grabs, including a pair of Nike Dunk Low SB Supreme "White Cements" and the complete set of all 3 of the Nike Dunk Hi SB Supreme "College Stars" pack available in a single lot. Perhaps the most unique collaboration is the Nike SB Kobe x Koston which comes with a custom humidor, cigars, and golf balls.
Then there's lot 50, perhaps the most legendary pair of shoes in sneaker history. A shoe that many have dreamt about but has also caused many a nightmare, A Nightmare On Elm Street, that is. Lot 50 is a size 9 Nike Dunk Low SB "Freddy Krueger" sample pair. The design was scrapped before ever hitting the market but is now available to the highest bidder as part of the "Heat" collection.
Sotheby's is currently taking bids on all lots up until June 13. If you want to put one of these pieces high on your mantle, head over and place your bid. Check back here for more updates, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram for all the latest on sneakers, streetwear, and collectibles.
