The world of sneakers and streetwear has a relatively large void left by the untimely passing of Virgil Abloh. Virgil was an icon of fashion; he made Dunks cool again and ushered in a new era of streetwear. However, to keep his legacy alive, the brand he founded, Off-White, must move on.
Off-White's parent company Farfetch and its subsidiary, New Guards Group (NGG), announced a series of changes in Senior Leadership. NGG co-founder Andrea Grilli stepped aside as the CEO of Off-White and tapped the group's Chief Marketing Officer, Cristiano Fagnani, as the new CEO of Virgil's label. Additionally, Fagnani will oversee NGG's new strategic alliance with Reebok. The Reebok partnership is with NGG and not Off-White directly, so we'll have to wait and see what this news means for the sneaker world.
Nike and Off-White still have a handful of projects in the works, with some already having seen production complete and will continue to release in the coming months. Off-White sneakers continue to be highly sought after and have recently found their way to Sotheby's auction house. Check back for more updates on the Off-White line.
