Even when the artist is gone, truly great art transcends. That is the case with Virgil Abloh and Off-White. Though he is gone from this world his legend lives on. Nike and his estate have found a way to keep his art alive.
Off-White and Nike have come together for several posthumous releases and some of them have even found their way to Sotheby’s auction house. The fact that his releases are still coming and still popular speaks volumes about the impact Virgil left on the sneaker world.
Albeit the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid isn’t the most desirable collaboration from the pair but there is clearly still demand for the pair. Having released in both black and white colorways last year, the Air Force 1 Mid is back for a third installment in a pine green colorway. The pine green upper is complimented by a matching rubber spiked outsole that makes for a rather uniform offering compared to the last two. The Off-White Mid uses highlights of white on the swoosh and midsole along with Abloh’s hallmark over lace and zip tag. His white candlestick logo is located on the heel and the bright orange swoosh tag is the kinky other color found on the shoe.
Official images have loaded up from Nike and the release is set for April 28th with a $185 price tag. The release will most certainly be hosted on the Nike SNKRS App and other select retailers worldwide.
