In 2024, Nike Basketball is set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Kobe 9 EM with a special release of the “Halo” edition, which includes two variations: the Kobe 9 Protro EM and the high-top Kobe 9 Protro Elite.
Originally launched in March 2014, the Kobe 9 EM is the low-top version of this iconic silhouette. To commemorate its 10th anniversary, these shoes are dressed in a pristine all-White design, as part of the Nike Kobe Halo Series. While we haven't seen images of the shoes yet, sources suggest that they will feature a "Triple White" color scheme. Unlike the Flyknit versions, the EM (Engineered Mesh) edition boasts dynamic flywire and Kobe's signature on the lateral side. You can also spot his logo on the tongues and outsole. Notably, the outsole's tread is designed to resemble a foot, a feature that enhances the shoe's performance.
The Nike Kobe 9 Protro EM "Halo" is set to arrive August 23, 2024, coinciding with Kobe Bryant's birthday, making it a fitting tribute to the basketball legend. The release is set to take place via the Nike SNKRS app and at select Nike Basketball retailers. For more updates on Kobe releases and the latest sneaker news, follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
