The Kobe Bryant “Halo Series” is the brainchild of Vanessa Bryant, she wanted a way to make sure her husband's sneaker legacy lived on forever. Together with Nike, they launch a new silhouette on Kobes's birthday, August 23rd, in an angelic all-white presentation.
This year The Kobe Bryant “Halo Series” launch will celebrate the Kobe 8 Protro in the triple-white mentioned above. The release coincides with a two-day youth basketball tournament hosted by the Mamba League on his home court in LA. Eight 8 teams of the nation's most elite high school hoopers will lace up and battle their way to the championship game on “Kobe Bryant Day” 8-24 (August 24th).
For two years now, the sneaker world has gone without a new release from one of its most storied franchises, but those days are gone. The Halo 8 will mark the relaunch of Kobe's iconic sneaker line, including many restocks of retros and new colorways of classic silhouettes in the coming months and years. With no new pairs making their way to market, sneaker collectors were left to turn to the aftermarkets, which caused a surge in resale prices on a rapidly dwindling inventory.
