The upcoming Nike KD 17 will be Nike and Kevin Durant's seventeenth signature shoe. In a leak of an internal document from Nike earlier this year, we saw the first renders of two colorways for the Nike KD 17, "Sunrise" and "Penny." We're now finally getting a first look at the upcoming "Penny" colorway which will release a month after "Sunrise" this May 2024.
The "Penny" colorway pays homage to Penny Hardaway and the Orlando Magic. The new Nike KD 17 will also feature forefoot Zoom cushioning, a TPU shank, a CushIon midsole, and a generative rubber outsole. The KD 17 bears quite the resembles the popular Nike Air Max Plus, featuring wavy lines across the upper, giving it a bit of a retro look.
The Nike KD 17 "Penny" features a simple color palette including White, Black, and Game Royal hues, a nod to the Orlando Magic's team colors. The upper base layer arrives in White, the wavy TPU cage arriving in a Black/Game Royal gradient. The inner lining arrives in Black, with KD branding in Blue. Finishing off the look, we'll see a White midsole sitting atop a Light Blue rubber outsole. Stay tuned for official images and updates in the coming months.
The Nike KD 17 "Penny" is set to release on May 24th, 2024 via Nike.com and select Nike retailers for a retail price of $150. To stay informed on all things Nike Brand and to stay up to date with the latest releases, connect with us on Instagram and Twitter.
