The release of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Olive is right around the corner. With this rumored to be the last release of Travis and Jordan 1 partnership, demand for these is hitting an all time high. Stock numbers are rumored to be north of 100,000 but that doesn’t mean they’re going to be an easy cop. In fact, these will probably be one of the hardest shoe releases to cop of 2023. However, there are some things you can do to better your odds and cop yourself a pair.
The shoes are designated for boutique “Tier 0” stores and the SNKRS App so you won't be seeing any pairs show up at your local Foot Locker. Most, if not all, of these boutiques have moved to a raffle model hype releases like this which means securing a pair is all about volume. The more raffles you fill out, the better your chances. It’s no secret that there are Sneaker Bots on the market that support mass raffle entries and they do indeed fare pretty well on raffle releases. That doesn’t mean give up, still enter for everything you see but there are some where you will have better odds.
Raffle Systems
- Local Raffles: If you have any of these boutiques anywhere near you and they are running a locals only, or in-store based raffle this will be your best shot. By only giving access to people who can either come in-store to enter or pick-up the shoes they drastically reduce the amount of entrants eligible and raise your chances.
- Mobile App Based Raffles: Most bots have a hard time creating entries for in-app raffles so make sure these are a top priority. Kith and SNS (Sneakersnstuff) are two of the primary ones to keep on your radar.
- EQL Raffles: EQL is a raffle service that is said to be the best for filtering out bots and giving real users the best odds. They also use an algorithm that raises your odds based on the amount of previous entry losses. Undefeated and Atmos have both recently transitioned to this system.
SNKRS App
The best chances you are going to have will no doubt be the Nike SNKRS App. Nike not only does a fair job filtering out bots (no one can completely eliminate them) but Nike will also have the most stock by far. While the boutique stores may have 100 pairs or so, Nike will likely have over 50,000 to release on their own. Once again, success on the SNKRS App is all about numbers, the more entries you have the better your chances. So call everyone you know, and ask them for help. Every friend, cousin, co-worker, or Starbucks barista can all enter on your behalf, as long as you have a phone number you can have a SNKRS account. If one of them should happen to win for you, make sure to give them a proper thank you as well.
Random One-Off Releases
It is highly, highly unlikely that any stores will be doing FCFS for the Travis Scott Jordan 1’s. After the debacles we saw on the Nike SB Jordan 4 release retailers will be focused on safety and likely won't want to deal with the drama that will 150% show up if they do an in-store FCFS.
There could still be other releases that pop up through social media or other means as well. Instagram releases have been gaining popularity lately and it’s always possible that boutique stores pop one up on their IG shop without warning.
To make a long story short, fill out every single raffle you see and ask everyone you know to throw in a SNKRS App entry for you. Stock is alleged to be pretty high for these so this could be your chance to finally cop a Travis Scott Jordan for retail. Of course if you don’t, there's always the aftermarket.
