Back in 2003 Nike and online retail giant eBay decided to team up for a good cause. They auctioned off a one of a kind pair of Nike Dunk SB Low's that benefited the Tim Brauch Foundation and skate parks in the Portland Oregon area.
The collaboration between eBay and Nike proved to fetch a pretty penny when the pair was sold for $30,000. To make sure the pair was never recreated Nike cut the original sample into sectioned pieces, this release pays homage to Nike's innovative ideas. At the peak of the Nike SB hype Nike and eBay are once again coming together for a shoe that will mirror the cut up sample.
A white rubber sole holds the eBay color scheme on different panels of the shoe. Red panels fill the heel overlays, while the toe overlays come in yellow. The green vamp matches the lining inside the shoe and tongue. Nike has gone with blue laces to match the Swoosh. What really sets this pair apart is the transparent slits in the shoe that pay homage to the cuts in the original sample.
The eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low is rumored to drop just in time for the holidays, December 15th, 2022. The shoe is expected to release on the Nike SNKRS app and select Nike SB skate shops.
