There’s been some new developments on the Tom Sachs and Nike partnership front. While Sachs's transgressions have been well documented, they appear not enough to strip him of his swoosh. When news of his hostile workplace first broke back in May, Nike made an official statement to Complex that read, “We are not working with Tom’s studio at this time and have no release dates planned.” “At this time” was apparently the operative phrase in that statement.
A reliable source has now come forward to state that not only is the partnership still active but is nearing a new release. The source revealed that Nike sitting on a significant stock of a new General Purpose Shoe colorway, "Summit White", and is also gearing up for a release of the long-rumored NikeCraft Mars Yard 3.0. If these shoes do indeed release, this would present a stark departure in the social justice stance for the brand that was quick to part ways with Kyrie Irving.
The source says that the Mars Yard 3.0 is set to be part of the Nike Holiday 2023 lineup but could not reveal any other details. There’s sure to be more to this story, so follow us on Twitter and Instagram for all the updates.
