Iconic hip-hop duo, Run The Jewels, is primed to bless the streets with a Nike SB Dunk High to run alongside their low-top model for Nike's annual 4/20 offering. Known for their cult-like following, Killer Mike and El-P are set to drop a two-pack of SB Dunks in the coming weeks inspired by the artwork of their album covers.
If you're familiar with their music, specifically the RTJ4 album, it's no surprise what the inspiration for this shoe was as the colors are a mirror image of the album cover. The Active Pink mainstay of the shoe is made up of shaggy pony hair with premium tumbled leather on the toe box and quarter panel. The pair has a black midsole with active pink stitching and outsole. The RTJ high has no shortage of detail work as well, the black swoosh is 3D to give the feel of a real “jewel” and the backside of the tongue has a velcro stash pocket. If you peel back the collars you can see more RTJ branding but the real jewel of this piece is the dubraes. The lace locks feature the band's signature hand signs for the gun and fist (馃憠 馃) in a 3D gold presentation. Needless to say, this pair is not-so-subtle.
International “holiday” April 20 has been dubbed the release date for the Run The Jewels Nike SB Dunk pack for both the High and the Low. No price tag has been announced just yet but expect to see the pair's release on the SNKRS App and at select skateshops nationwide.
