The Rimowa x Nigel Sylvester BMX Bike Case is crafted with the brand's signature grooved aluminum design language, ensuring it is both durable and instantly recognizable. The case has been specifically shaped to fit Sylvester's BMX bike, providing optimum protection during transport.
Featuring a hinged door for easy access, the case has webbed straps emblazoned with Rimowa's coordinates to secure the bike inside. A small aluminum toolbox is also included inside for added convenience. The exterior of the case features Rimowa's classic leather handle, allowing for easy carrying during travel. As a BMX rider, Sylvester's options for traveling with his bike have been limited in the past, often relying on repurposed golf bags for protection. This collaboration with Rimowa has allowed him to create a sleek and visually appealing solution, elevating the way he travels with his bike.
Sylvester, who has traveled extensively for his web series GO, which documents his global adventures, describes the process of co-designing the case as "dope," explaining that it took a year of back-and-forth on ideas and concepts. He enjoyed the opportunity to sit down with the designers in Germany and see the case come to life, noting that the shape is something that has never been seen before from Rimowa. Sylvester, who became the first professional BMX athlete to be signed by Jordan Brand in 2021, has also recently collaborated on a brand new Nike Jordan Air Ship PE which made headlines earlier this month.
