Update (4/26/23): Looks like Pharrell and Adidas are dropping much more than just a lilac colorway of the Humanrace Samba. New info and images from the man himself reveal a red, pink, yellow, and orange will drop along side the lilac on April 28 at the Something In The Water Festival in Virginia Beach. The 5 pack will release on a wider scale on May 6 while the black, white and terracotta colors will drop some time in the future.
Now that the Adidas Samba is having its moment in the sun, it seems collaborations are coming from every direction. With partnerships from Jason Dill, Kith x Clarks already hitting shelves, and JJJJound on the way it’s time for Pharrell to take his swing at the silhouette.
The newly minted creative director for Louis Vuitton is introducing a Humanrace Samba in an all-over lilac color. Pharrells offering uses premium materials and what it lacks in contrast it makes up for in textures. The Adidas Humanrace Samba has an exaggerated tongue and rawhide laces. The heel tab, three stripes, and toe box also have a much thicker and more pronounced feel to them that gives the shoe character. Lastly sole of the shoe status is in the lilac uniform but with a bit of a translucent vibe. The crepes will also come with a dust bag and an alternate pair of laces.
Rumors of a summer release date are circulating but nothing has been confirmed except for the $120 sticker price. You can expect to see the shoe released on adidas.com and at other select retailers nationwide.
