The Nike Air Max 1 is recognized as a model that helped to transform and fuel the sneaker industry to where it is today. Considered, Nike's most significant and innovative design of a sneaker to date, it is a beloved model by sneaker enthusiasts all around the world. This year, Nike has already released a variety of Air Max 1 colorways that have been eagerly purchased by collectors. Additionally, they have more eye-catching colors on the way, including bringing back a classic colorway and design to what was inspired by the original Air Max 1 that was released in 1986, The Air Max 1 '86 Big Bubble. Now, Nike is returning a colorway that looks to resemble the popular 2003 Air Max 1 Chilli.
This new Nike Air Max 1 will come crafted of a mix of suede, mesh, and nubuck, while dressed in an eye-catching university red, pure platinum, black, and white. While this iteration has key similarities to the 2003 Air Max 1 Chilli, it's important to note some differences. On this new colorway, the grey overlay is now a much lighter shade of grey, and the tongue features the "Nike" print in red, a reversal of the white found in the Air Max 1 Chilli. A striking university red swoosh remains as it did on its predecessor. To complete the design, the shoe features Nike Air branding on its heels in an elegant black, which flawlessly complements the white rubber sole and black mudguard. Yet again, Nike has done a terrific job of designing another great Air Max 1 that is sure to be an Air Max enthusiast's next must-have purchase.
This new Air Max 1 in University Red and Pure Platinum will retail at $150 USD. Currently, it does not have an official release date just yet but is expected to be released in the coming months. They are expected to release on the Nike SNKRS App and at select Nike retailers.
