First launched back in 2000, the Bape STA became an instant. This silhouette featured very a very similar, almost identical design to the popular Nike Air Force 1, which even stirred up some drama leading to a Nike lawsuit earlier this year.
Earlier this month, we saw Bape's founder, Nigo's, "From Me to You" auction hosted by Joopiter. A notable piece in this auction was Nigo's personal pair of the Bape STA "College Dropout" from 2007. This colorway, inspired by Kanye West's "The College Dropout" album, is an icon in the sneaker community and has held a steady price of around $2,000 on StockX. Bidding began at $4,000, and reached a whopping $100,000 final price.
