The New Balance 204V Releases August 2026 in Three Pastel Colorways

New Balance is expanding its 204 family with the 204V, a reworked take on the 204L that replaces the traditional tongue and lace setup with a wide Velcro strap. The strap crosses the top of the foot and extends toward the lateral side, leaving more of the forefoot exposed than on the original model. New Balance also redesigned the toe overlays to integrate the closure into the silhouette rather than making it feel like an afterthought.

Much of the 204L's core construction carries over to the 204V. The upper retains its mesh base, layered leather and suede panels, and slim tech-runner profile. One notable change appears on the medial side, where New Balance removed the familiar "N" logo, giving the shoe a cleaner look while keeping the overall aesthetic close to the silhouette that made the 204L popular. A low-profile sole unit rounds out the build on all three versions.

The 204V launches in three pastel colorways: "Bayberry/Lone Star-Grey," "Turtledove/Timberwolf," and "Light Arctic Grey/Heron Blue." Each pair shares the same mixed-material construction and muted tonal approach, making the trio feel like a cohesive seasonal offering rather than three standalone releases.
