LPGA ace Michelle Wie West has been in the golf spotlight for nearly her entire life. At 10, she became the youngest player to ever qualify for a USGA Amature Championship and then turned pro when she was just 16. With several LPGA victories on her resume, including a major championship at the 2014 U.S. Women's Open, she can now add one of the fastest sellouts in Air Jordan history to her list of accomplishments.
Wie West recently revealed an Air Jordan 1 Golf "Pebble Beach" shoe she had been collaborating on, and the release came and went faster than her swing off the tee box. The shoe released on Nike today (July 18th) via first come, first served and not the standard raffle style release you may be used to seeing on the SNKRS App. To be fair, there were barely 1,000 pairs up for grabs, so there wasn't much stock to sell. Many users reported issues with getting the product page to load, and those who could access the page had little chance of completing the purchase. By 10:01, nearly every size had been run through, and when the product page was finally accessible for most, the shoes were gone. It's estimated that the complete sellout happened in less than 90 seconds.
That's a pretty impressive feat regardless of how much stock was available, and definitely, something Wie West and Nike can be proud of. A restock does seem unlikely, but if it does happen, you can find the details on our Twitter and Instagram.
