Update (1/20/23): New images have surfaced of the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R Gore Tx “Green” and the matching “Grey” pair.
Canadian mood board designer JJJJound has been known to take a minimalist approach to some of the most popular sneaker silhouettes on the market. JJJJound has been criticized for making collabs look like GRs but is now taking a new approach to the New Balance 2002R.
While his choice of color palates has never been anything striking, his material selection is always second to none. With those premium materials in mind, JJJJound chose something new for his newest creation. The JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX will use the ultra-durable and weatherproof material we typically see in hiking boots. The colorway is simple enough, with a black mesh base and undercarriage topped off with green suede overlays. The GORE-TEX material is waterproof and built for all elements. It's durable, keeps your foot dry, and can stand up to almost anything you throw at it.
Release details aren't fully available at the moment, but if history holds true, we will see them available first through JJJJound and then up for grabs on New Balance soon after that. Given the JJJJound name and GORE-TEX use, you can expect to see this pair retail north of $200. Once more information on the drop is available, you can find it on our Twitter and Instagram.
