Led by the creative mind Justin Saunders, the Montreal-based design studio JJJJound has carved a prominent niche in the sneaker world in recent years. Their collaborations with major footwear brands have been at the forefront of contemporary streetwear. However, it's their partnership with New Balance that consistently captures the hearts of sneakerheads around the world. This Fall/Winter season, the spotlight is on JJJJound's fresh interpretation of the beloved New Balance 2002R in a new Strom Blue colorway.
In a departure from their usual monochromatic aesthetics, JJJJound introduces a stunning interplay of greys and blues, drawing inspiration from atmos' Cybernetic-themed colorway. The New Balance 2002R features premium dusty blue suede on the mudguard, midfoot, and heel, creating an eye-catching contrast against the darker blue perforated nubuck on the toe and tongue. The shoe's foundation is a textured grey mesh, adding depth to the design. The iconic "N" logo on the midfoot takes on a sleek black hue, harmonizing with the black sockliner. JJJJound's signature 3M reflective branding on the tongue elegantly contrasts the creamy lace set. The design is completed with a white and cream foam midsole and a durable black rubber outsole borrowed from the New Balance 860v2.
The JJJJound x New Balance 2002R "Storm Blue" releases October 26th, 2023 via JJJJound's online webstore for $170 in unisex sizing. For the latest updates on JJJJound releases and all sneaker news, connect with us on Twitter and Instagram.
