Jalen Green Shows Love For His Filipino Roots With The Adidas BYW Select
As a former #2 overall pick in the NBA draft and only third player in league history of Filipino descent, Jalen Brown is no stranger to blazing a trail for himself. Last year Adidas took him on tour throughout Southeast Asia to show respect to his roots and now the two are taking one step further with the new BYW Select.
You don’t have to look too hard at the Adidas BYW Select to realize where it takes inspiration from. The colors of the Filipino flag are prominent on the show and the mismatched colors make them stand out in a crowd. The left shoe features a red upper with blue laces while the right one uses blue with red. Both shoes have a white midsole with yellow highlights representing the sun found on the flag.
