The Boston Tea Party is as large of a part of American history as nearly any other event. It symbolized rebellion, independence, and the destruction of perfectly good tea leaves. This rebellion served as a powder keg that would eventually lead to the American Revolution and what we now know as Independence Day. Boston-based Concepts holds a special place for the Tea Party and has honored the event the best way they know how by designing a special pair of sneakers.
The Concepts x Asics Gely-Lyte V “Libertea” is as patriotic in design as can be, with the colors of the flag consuming the upper. Red suede on the heel, navy blue on the eye stays and tongue, and off-white around the toe. Gold trim for the Asics logo with stars and stripes-themed alternate laces really makes this shoe unique. Last but not least is the packaging; the shoe box is designed to look like one of the shipping crates full of tea that ultimately ended up in Boston Harbor.
The Concepts x Asics Gel Lyte V “Libertea” is set to drop for $150 and should come right around the July 4th holiday as VIP Access is already live on Concepts. Tap in with us on Twitter and Instagram for the quickest alert when the drop goes live.
