In 2021, Florida A&M University Athletics (FAMU) and Nike Basketball entered into a six-year partnership that began with the launch of an exclusive LeBron 18 PE. Since then, FAMU has been gifted with a few LeBron 20 PEs, as well as Green and Black colorways of the LeBron 7. As we head into the summer season of 2023, FAMU, in conjunction with APB, owned by The Whitaker Group, is prepped to release two new colorways of the LeBron 20. This collaboration continues to demonstrate the shared commitment of FAMU and Nike to support the athletes who represent the University both on and off the court.
The first pair of the duo features a standout color combination of Peach Cream, Safety Orange, Stadium Green, Coconut Milk, and Black, while the other is draped in Coconut Milk, Electric Algae, Vivid Orange, Sesame, Mica Green, and Phantom. The shoes are sure to turn a few heads both on and off the court, with the added reptile-textured upper and double-stacked Swooshes. The materials used on both pairs are a combination of snakeskin-textured and tumbled leather, something rare to see on a pair of hoop shoes.
Both colorways also feature unique design elements to celebrate the partnership. The right tongues of the shoes include "All Points Bulletin" debossed text, that pays homage to the alma mater, while finishing details include, green exposed stitching, "A&M" heel patches, and the snake logos of FAMU and APB printed on the insoles. Both designs sit on a two-tone foam midsole and rubber outsole that match the color scheme of the respective pairs.
The FAMU x APB x Nike LeBron 20 pack will release on May 9th, 2023 via APB, at select Nike Basketball retailers and the Nike SNKRS app for $200. The duo will release in Men's sizing and feature special co-branded packaging.
