The Vans Slip-On "Checkboard" is an iconic shoe by Vans and is worn by millions. It appears that the aesthetic is furthered with a brand new distressed look on this new Vans Vault Slip-On LX Lux Duct. This unique look is similar to the aesthetic of Golden Goose, where all the new sneakers are pre-distressed to give it its unique style. This special edition Slip-On, however, was created to pay homage to the skaters of the '80s. This release is a Japan exclusive and is currently available for sale.
The Vans Vault Slip-On LX Lux Duct features the standard checkboard design with a few notable add-ons. Mainly, the pieces of the black duct tape found across the sneaker. This design element symbolizes how many skaters back in the day would use duct tape to further the sneaker's life to prevent wear and tear from skating. The rest of the design adds normal wear to the look, with the Vans logo on the heel smudged off as an added touch.
