The Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe "Demerits" Releases September 2026

Tom Sachs and Nike are returning to the General Purpose Shoe with the "Demerits" colorway, a black-based build that continues the practical, utilitarian design language the silhouette has been known for since its introduction. The release follows a busy stretch for the collaboration, which has included the Mars Yard 3.0 and the "Bricolage" General Purpose Shoe that dropped through select retailers and Nike SNKRS earlier in the year.

The upper is constructed in black leather with matching dark panels covering most of the shoe's surface. White Swooshes land on the sides and white heel pieces provide contrast against the otherwise blacked-out build. Team Royal blue appears on the pull tabs, adding a measured pop of color without disrupting the restrained palette. A gum rubber outsole rounds out the design, staying true to the straightforward, functional aesthetic that runs across the entire General Purpose Shoe line.
