Update (07/27/23): The Kobe Bryant Nike Air Huarache PE "Lakers Away" is set to launch on August 10th for a retail price of $125.
Update (04/27/23): Official images of the Kobe Bryant Nike Air Huarache PE have been released by Nike.
Before the Black Mamba chose checks over stripes there was a period of sneaker-free agency where the legend could wear anything he chose. Having already left Adidas, Nike took the opportunity to woo Bryant over to his new home. The Swoosh sent Kobe a steady flow of PE’s (Player Edition) shoes, many of which have never been seen since. One of those PE’s was the Nike Air Huarache decked out in Lakers colors, and now it's set to drop to the public.
The Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 is a high-top model with a base black typically used for “Away” colorways. The Huarache uses nubuck paneling on the uppers with underlays of purple and yellow neoprene. Black laces and more of The Lake Show colors on the court-side of the sole make the Kobe PE complete.
While official images have been released by Nike we are still waiting on release information. It could come very soon as both Nike Proto 4 and Adidas Kobe Crazy 1 are planned to be released on May 1, the birthday of the late Gigi Bryant. It’s likely that a release would take place on the SNKRS App but we could also see it happen on the Mamba & Mambacita Foundation page.
