The CONS AS-1 Pro Is Alexis Sablone's First Signature Sneaker With Converse

The multi-talented Alexis Sablone isn’t just one of the best skateboarders around, she also dabbles in design, animation, and other art mediums to express herself. Converse took note of Alexis's god given gift for skating and her love for the arts, and decided to offer the star a place in the Converse family.

A Connecticut native and MIT graduate with a master's degree in architecture, its no surprise Converse let her take the wheel when it came to designing The CONS AS-1. In fact, her first signature shoe is not the first time she has collaborated with Converse. She previously launched the Designed By Alexis Sablone collection, which featured the One Star Pro, Louie Lopez Pro, and Purcell Pro models, all redesigned to meet her style and performance-based specifications.

Drawing inspiration from the brand's vintage leather basketball shoes of the 1980s, the AS-1 Pro boasts a unique blend of vintage and modern styles. The sneaker's leather upper is adorned with striking rubber pods, creating a durable design. A '90s-inspired sole unit further enhances the retro feel, with the Salbone's name embossed on the tongue above a globe decal. The first iteration of the sneaker will arrive in a classic white and green color scheme, featuring premium full-grain leather. However, the AS-1 Pro will soon be available in a wider selection of materials and color combinations. For instance, sneaker enthusiasts can expect upcoming drops in plush suede and nubuck, including the "Cream/Burgundy" and "Black/White" colorways that will emphasize these textures and expand the line.

The Alexis Sablone x Converse AS-1 Pro is expected to release in the white and green color scheme on May 2nd, 2023, for $80. We can expect the remaining colorways to release shortly after, we'll keep you updated with the release details as they become available. You'll be able to find the kicks on the Converse website and at select Converse retailers upon release.
