Everyone knows that if an Air Jordan doesn't have a number in the name, it's just not that cool. Even at that, less than half of them are prevalent in today's sneaker community. However, there is a lone exception to that rule: the Spizike line. The Spizike line has a cult-like following and is known for blending some of the best features of early model Jordans.
Word came earlier this year that the Swoosh would be pulling the Spizike line out of the archives and re-introducing multiple new models. One of those new models is coming decked out in vintage Houston Oilers styling. If the Air Jordan Spizike Low "Houston Oilers" looks a bit familiar, it uses the cement paneling on the toe and heel from the Air Jordan 4, the wings of an Air Jordan 4, and the medial cages found on an Air Jordan 5. Couple that construction with baby blue tones on the upper, highlighted by a red Jumpman and lace toggle, and you have a new edition to a long line of Spizike lineage. The Oilers-themed kicks also pay homage to their namesake, Spike Lee (aka Mars Blackmon), with his likeness and "40 Acres and a Mule" logo on the heels.
The Air Jordan Spizike Low "Houston Oilers" is rumored to be released sometime in the Spring of 2024. The Spizike will drop via Nike and select other retailers for $160. For more info on sneaker releases, follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
