Update (08/07/23): After much speculation, it is now confirmed that retail giants Foot Locker and Dick's Sporting Goods will not be selling Yeezy sneakers, per Brendan Dunne and Lois Sakany.
Sneaker Twitter got a much-needed injection of excitement when rumors of another Yeezy restock surfaced. @Roszko72 leaked the alleged restock by stating that not only would more Yeezys be available soon, but they would be available from Foot Locker. A few hours later, he posted a timeline of Yeezy drops said to occur throughout August.
While the rumors are indeed exciting, they came as a tough pill to swallow for some as Foot Locker spoke out rather aggressively against Kanye's behavior in October of 2022 when they said, "We will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops, and we have instructed our retail operators to pull any existing product from our shelves and digital sites."
While that statement seems defiant and clear-cut, it's not dissimilar to what Adidas said only to reverse their stance when pressured by stockholders. Foot Locker is likely feeling a similar pinch as they recently reported a 27% dive in stock price.
It can't be denied that demand for Yeezys is still enormous; anytime they release, there will be an instant sellout. Will retailers outside Adidas again receive stock as these new rumors suggest? That remains to be seen, but nothing should be a surprise in today's sneaker world anymore. Should more details emerge you can be sure to find them on our Twitter and Instagram.
