Born on the streets of Gary, Indiana rapper Freddy Gibbs has taken the long road to success. He first signed with Interscope in 2006 and recorded his first record only to have it scrapped and dropped from the label. Gibb’s wouldn't let that stop him and moved on to Young Jeezy’s CTE World label where he became a bit of a mixtape legend. After that, he decided to pave his own way and launch his own record label, ESGN.
Under his own flag, the career of Freddie Gibbs really started to flourish as he would drop 4 solo albums as well as 4 collab albums, one of which garnered him a Grammy nomination. With music success in hand, Gibbs is now following in the footsteps of Travis Scott, Bad Bunny, and Fat Joe with his own sneaker collab. Freddie took to Twitter to announce the arrival of his very own Nike Air Force 1 production. Much like the DJ Clark Kent Air Force 1's this pair is reserved for Friends and Family only with only a super limited 30 pairs in existence. The Forces are a base white and carry a gambling theme with the Heart, Spade, Diamond, and Club symbols from a deck of cards making their way onto the laces and midsole with alternating dollar sign symbols. The comes fitted with the phrase “Sole Sold Separately” along with a roll of the dice as a nod to his gambling on himself over the years.
The lone picture of the shoes Freddie Gibbs posted to his Twitter came with no details, only a red Nike Swoosh, and a phone number for the Triple S Hotel in Las Vegas. Fans of Gibbs recognize this a reference from his previous album Soul Sold Separately.
Don’t expect to ever see these pairs on sale to the public, if you’re lucky you may see one at a Sneaker Con event or maybe at Private Selection.
