PROLETA RE ART is teaming up with vintage sneaker upcycler Foxtrot Uniform to create an Air Jordan 1 Art piece that wont be for sale. The project will utilize Boro cloth on the legendary Air Jordan 1.
The foundation of the sneaker is an Air Jordan 1 Retro High Chicago, the distressed blue paisley boro fabrics are fitted on the collars and tongue. Additional hits of red are integrated into the toe box and vamp. You can see natural fading and wear-and-tear across the leathers, and there are PROLETA RE ART tabs secured along the inner collars. These sneakers were inspired by Kintsugi, a Japanese philosophy from the 15th century that involves repairing items with gold, celebrating their flaws while bringing them back to life.
The PROLETA RE ART x Foxtrot Uniform art piece wont be seeing a release date and will remain a 1 of 1. Nike has a habit of stealing from creators so we could see this shoe be redesigned by the Nike design team in the future.
