Nike brings the pigskin to the Air Max in a tribute to Madden, one of the longest-running video game franchises of all. With the upcoming release of Madden '24, Nike introduced a special edition Air Max 90 nicknamed "Play Like Mad."
To commemorate this year's game release Nike used a cocoa wow-based upper and overlaid velvet-brown leather with a pebbled texture that resembles a football. Red, white, and blue highlights are found across the shoe to pay homage to the NFL shield emblazoned on the insole. Additional details include gold trim around the swooshes and an EA Sports logo on the tongue.
We're still in the dark about release details on the Nike Air Max 90 "Play Like Mad," but it could coincide with the release of Madden '24 on August 18th. Given Nike's partnership with EA Sports and recent developments with the Our Force 1 NFT and the Air Max Airphoria Fortnite projects, don't be surprised if Nike uses some web3 platform to release the shoes.
