No doubt Nike made a sizable investment in the Calm lineup of slide-on footwear. With a slide, sandal, and clog now under the umbrella, the brand pushes full steam ahead with the Calm agenda despite receiving mixed reviews on the initial rollout. The Swoosh is now looking for all forms of inspiration to help the Calm Line catch on, and an upcoming two-pack release shows that they will stop at nothing to make the Calm Slide succeed, even if that means “borrowing” from a competitor.
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, and with just one look at the upcoming Calm Slide, you would be hard-pressed to think they’re anything but a direct imitation of the “MX'' style made famous by Yeezy Slides and Foam RNNRs. The Calm Slide “MX Pack'' will come in Picante Red and Black and debut this summer. Both pairs feature the marbelized design using varying shades of the namesake color to create the aesthetic. The single piece of molded foam has a seamless construction (much like the Yeezy Slide) and debossed Nike branding embedded throughout.
The Nike Calm Slide “MX Pack” is set to hit retailer shelves Summer 2024. The slides will cost $50 and be available from Nike and other retailers. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram to find out what other sneakers are releasing this summer and all the latest news.
