LEGO and Toei Animation have officially unveiled the first set born from their new Dragon Ball partnership. The LEGO Icons Dragon Ball Shenron and Goku set is an 1,764-piece display model aimed at adult collectors 18 and up, depicting the iconic moment when the eternal dragon Shenron rises from the seven gathered Dragon Balls. The scene is a centerpiece of Akira Toriyama's original manga and its many anime adaptations, and LEGO has leaned into its dramatic scale: the finished model stands over 12.5 inches tall, with Shenron coiling around a large brick pillar for structural stability.
The build centers on Shenron himself, rendered with flowing scales and poseable head and claws. The seven Dragon Balls sit on small translucent pedestals at the base of the pillar, each a Technic ball printed with one to seven stars. Lightning bolts frame the left and right sides of the composition, and a matte-black display base carries a printed Dragon Ball logo across its front. A Kid Goku minifigure, sporting a new hair piece and his classic orange gi with a monkey tail, rides the Flying Nimbus cloud on an adjustable arm that can be repositioned for different display angles. The set ships with no stickers, as all decorative details are achieved through printed elements and building techniques.
