The LEGO x PlayStation Set Arrives October 2026
Quick Summary
- LEGO x PlayStation set drops October 1st, 2026 via PlayStation Direct for $180 retail.
- Build recreates the original PS1 console at near full size with working Power and Open buttons.
- Includes two dioramas honoring Gran Turismo and Ape Escape, plus a replica controller that plugs in.
LEGO and Sony have collaborated to bring the original PlayStation back as a display-ready building set, announced during Sony's State of Play. The build recreates the iconic PS1 console at close to full size, preserving the familiar silhouette of the original hardware while weaving in nods to classic PlayStation titles that defined the era.
Two in-set dioramas pay tribute to the console's legacy games. Gran Turismo is represented through a miniature race track complete with small cars, while Ape Escape gets its own island scene featuring a monkey figure whose helmet light can be toggled between blue and red. Both displays function as standalone pieces or can be incorporated directly into the main PlayStation build. The set also includes a LEGO replica of the original PlayStation controller, which can plug into the console itself. Working Power and Open buttons add an interactive touch, though the set is built for display rather than play.
The LEGO x PlayStation set begins rolling out October 1st, 2026 through PlayStation Direct, with LEGO Insiders Early Access also opening that day. A wider release through LEGO follows on October 4th, with the set retailing for $180. To stay up to date with every wave of the LEGO x PlayStation rollout, connect with us on Instagram and Twitter.
