Looking back about two decades, there's a lesser-known fact that might surprise many: Kobe Bryant originally inked a deal with adidas in the early stages of his career. Even though their paths diverged in 2002, adidas is gearing up to bring back that iconic pair, now going by the name Crazy 8, before the year comes to a close. While the model might have shed its association with his name, the deep connection to his legacy remains ever-present.
Drawing inspiration from Adidas' EQT and Feet You Wear collections, the revived Crazy 8 is poised to make a return in a variety of color schemes over the upcoming five months. However, for its initial modern revival, the model will embrace the timeless combo of Core Black and Cloud White. The incorporation of faded panels across the upper takes a slight departure from the design Kobe once sported. Nonetheless, it's reasonable to expect a faithful retro rendition to grace the scene down the line. The sneaker was popular amongst hoopers back when it first released, and will surely bring the crowds out again.
The Adidas Crazy 8 was released via Adidas.com and at select Adidas retailers on August 15th, 2023 for a retail price of $140. The pair is still available and you can pick up a pair now to strut on and off the courts.
