The Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low made waves on the Internet in late 2022 when images of the collaboration were first leaked. Jarritos is a Mexican-founded soft drink company that made its debut in the United States in the late 1980s and has since become a favorite in many Mexican restaurants and households all over the country. Brendan Dunne of Complex has confirmed that the Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low will be seeing a global release in 2023.
Since the news broke, we have seen countless angles and details of the collaboration step into the light months ahead of the official release date. From the release's cutaway uppers to a limited apparel collection, consisting of tees, hoodies, and more.
The collaboration features a white leather base that sits below what appears to be phantom-shaded hemp canvas overlays. The Nike Swoosh also seems to follow the hemp fabric in a green dye. The Jarritos logo sits embossed on the lateral heel counter in orange and green, while the tongue tag features the same logo. This one-of-a-kind Nike SB Dunk Low is finished off by an orange and green outsole, and white midsole to match the laces. Nike is known for their easter eggs and it seems that Nike SB is no different with the Jarritos Dunk's cutaway hemp uppers and Swoosh. Cutting the layers of the sneaker reveals red/orange leather underneath.
The Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to release May 6th at select Nike SB skate shops with a global Nike SNKRS app launch currently set for May 4th. The collaboration comes in at a retail price of $130 in men's sizing.
