Flowers Set The Stage For The Upcoming Doernbecher Freestyle Collection
Nike's annual Doernbecher Freestyle collection is one of the true highlights of the sneaker calendar. Every year, a group of youngsters is chosen from the Doernbecher Children's Hospital to make their mark on a pair of Nikes. The designs that some of these children come up with are truly remarkable and often some of the most sought-after sneakers ever to be released. During the 2023 campaign, a kid named Jaren put a bright orange twist on a Nike Vomero 5, and now that shoe is being talked about as the front runner as the mythical Sneaker of The Year.
This week @brandon1an took to Twitter to share early images of a pair from the upcoming collection. The imagery showed a Nike Dunk High decorated in a pastel pink floral design. Premium white leather is used on the medial and toe boxes, while the flowery print-coated canvas makes up the foxing and tips. Pale pink suede is due on the eye stays and swoosh while a chocolate chip cookie adorns the tongue tag.
The forthcoming Doernbecher collection is said to feature six new sneaker designs from six fantastic youngsters, including the Nike Dunk Highs.
