Dave Chappelle is arguably the Goat of stand-up comedy. In fact, not even many others belong in the conversation with him. Maybe Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, and George Carlin, but that's it. Even those names haven't been able to command the stage with the longevity of Chappelle, and being the Goat has its perks. What the Goat wants, the Goat gets.
As Chappelle was gearing up for a new Netflix comedy special, he wanted a very specific sneaker to wear on stage. A white Air Force 1, Gum sole, and his signature "C" logo on the heel, seems simple enough, right? He tasked Coltrane Curtis of Team Epiphany Management with delivery, giving him a ridiculous turnaround time of 1 week. Curtis had to fire a silver bullet known as DJ Clark Kent.
If Chappelle is the Goat of Comedy, then Kent is the Goat of Friends and Family, 1 of 1 sneaker, and his reputation stands tall. Kent pulled some serious strings and delivered the shoes in time. Somehow five pairs of size 12s were delivered and are now ready for the Netflix stage, thanks to Coltrane Curtis and DJ Clark Kent.
Don’t expect to ever see this pair on the retail market, its doubtful that Kent even secured a pair for himself. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram for all the latest news from the sneaker world and the most up-to-date release information.
