MSCHF has made a name for itself in the streetwear industry with their impressive track record of releases. Most of their designs are innovative and obscure, while successfully referencing pop culture in a way many brands have failed to do so. From releasing a puzzle with a QR code made visible upon completion, with a grand prize of up to 1 million dollars, to a fashionable orthopedic boot, MSCHF strives to provide a product for everyone.
This time MSCHF is tapping into nostalgia by releasing what they call the Big Red Boots, a real life take on Astro Boy's kicks. The design is simple yet animated, with no details on the surface of the boots the pair look straight out of the of a comic, made from a TPU rubber shell and a EVA sole unit. MSCHF released a statement on the product "If you kick someone in these boots they go BOING!” "You never design shoes to be shaped like feet. Big Red Boots are REALLY not shaped like feet, but they are EXTREMELY shaped like boots."
The MSCHF Big Red Boot is set to release on February 16th at 11am EST, on the MSCHF Sneakers app and MSCHF.com. For your best shot at securing a pair, and to stay up to date with the latest releases, connect with us on Instagram and Twitter.
