30 years in the game is a major milestone and the Japanese design house is celebrating in proper style. The Bape x Adidas Campus 80s collab is on the way with a navy-blue offering.
A Bathing Ape was born in 1993 as the brainchild of designer Nigo (Tomoaki Nagao) who recognized how supply and demand can impact a product's success. When first starting out, Nigo decided that deliberately making his products scarce would be a major factor in driving the demand and hype. People always want what they can't have. Over the next 3 decades, Bape infiltrated the fashion scene across the world and has seen enormous success in the U.S.
With collabs of all kinds under their belt, Bape partnered with Adidas to commemorate this historic birthday. The Campus 80s comes to us in a navy-blue suede upper with a cream-colored undercarriage. White Bape and Adidas logos are highlighted by hints of gold that include a bold set of dubraes. The tongue also features a debossed tribute to the special anniversary.
The collaboration looks to be exclusively available from Adidas, entries are open now on the confirmed app and are set to draw on April 1. The shoes are available in men's sizing and carry a price tag of $150 (that's actually pretty light for a Bape).
