Update (07/11/23): The Air Jordan 5 SE Burgundy is now scheduled to release on August 12th for $200 via the Nike SNKRS app and at select Jordan Brand retailers.
In 1990 the Air Jordan 5 was birthed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. Since its release the shoe has been an instant classic, taking on dozens of colorways and design changes. One of these was the Air Jordan 5 Burgundy that was released in 2006, today news has surfaced that the burgundy colorway will be remodeled on an Air Jordan 5 SE.
The SE in the Air Jordan 5's name stands for the special edition, the pair in question will be a special edition because of the changes made to the materials on the sneaker. This model of the Air Jordan 5 SE features a premium burgundy suede upper that sits above a subtle translucent perforated carbon fiber plate. Signature Air Jordan 5 Shark Teeth are featured on the midsole in a speckled charcoal grey, while black accents on the shoe include the Jumpman logo on the tongue and on the heel. A burgundy rubber midsole and icy translucent outsole complete the updated look of the Air Jordan 5.
