First came the 4s, soon the 3s, and now possibly the 5s. All three shoes have been given, or are being given, the “Black Cat” treatment in recent years. The all-black colorway takes its name from a not-so-affectionate nickname MJ received from Isaiah Thomas and has become a highly sought-after retro design package.
Rumor has it an Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat” is in the works with all the familiar trimmings. Early mock-ups show an all-black nubuck upper, black netting, black midsole, and black-on-black tongue logo. Exposed air bubbles and some small translucent black sections of the outsole are pieces of the shoe that could even be detected on this stealth bomber. On the contrary, the Air Jordan 5 “White/Black” releasing this summer is the polar opposite of the “Black Cat.”
The Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat” is scheduled to release December 7th, 2024. The shoes will run for $210 and be available from the SNKRS App and other retailers. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram for more release notes and all the latest sneaker news.
