It’s no secret that demand for the Air Jordan 1 has been waning over the past 18 months. The recent releases of the “Satin Bred” and “Reimagined Royals” can still be found sitting on shelves and while that’s not necessarily a bad thing it does speak a lot about the demand. Given that the Air Jordan 1 High has fallen off it should be even less of a surprise that the Mid version of the shoe that started it all has virtually fallen off a cliff. Lots of factors are at play here including an endless flow of new colorways, less-than-premium materials, and a somewhat misguided public sentiment that the Air Jordan 1 Mid is somehow inferior to its taller forefather.
While some Air Jordan 1 Mid colorways have seen recent success this newest one is not going to go very far in re-establishing the shoe's place in the market. The Air Jordan 1 Mid “White Black” is about as simple as can be. The shoe is virtually all white save for a few black highlights on the swoosh, collar, and outsole. Even though its rather basic the nicknames for the colorway have been rather clever as its been called everything from the “Storm Trooper”, to the “Reverse Panda”, to “Air Ship Mid” given its similarity to the A Ma Maniere Air Ship aesthetics.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid “White Black” is scheduled to drop in the early part of 2024 and will cost $125. As with all Mids, we can expect to see the release take place via Nike and other select retailers. Stay in tune with our Twitter and Instagram and we’ll keep you updated on the official release date.
