Yeezy footwear is making its way back into a major retail chain for the first time since Ye parted ways with adidas. JD Sports is set to carry the Yeezy YS-01 Slide later this summer, giving shoppers a brick-and-mortar and online alternative to purchasing directly through the Yeezy website. The move is notable because the YS-01 is one of the few former Yeezy designs that Ye retains the right to produce independently, having held the design patent for the original Yeezy Slide throughout the adidas partnership.
The YS-01 closely mirrors the adidas-era Yeezy Slide in shape, construction, and underfoot feel, with the primary difference being the removal of any Three Stripes branding. The molded foam build keeps the same low-profile silhouette that made the original a popular warm-weather option. Colorways released through Yeezy's own store have included Chocolate, Blue, Grey, Cream, Brown, Tan, and Black, though specific colorways for the JD Sports drop have not yet been confirmed. Pricing has shifted since the slide's independent debut, moving from an initial $20 to $40 on the Yeezy site, and the JD Sports retail price is set at $44.
