The Virgil Abloh Archive is expanding its Nike Cryoshot project with a Team USA release built around one of Nike's most significant women's soccer silhouettes. Reworking the Zoom M9 cleat-style trainer originally released in 1999, the collaboration pays direct tribute to Mia Hamm's legendary performance at that year's Women's World Cup, a connection that was teased early in the campaign when Hamm appeared alongside Travis Scott in the hand-drawn Cryoshot announcement imagery. The pair sits within Nike's broader X2 World Cup collection, drawing on Americana archives and the soccer aesthetics of the 1994 era.
The Zoom M9 upper keeps the design clean and restrained relative to the rest of the capsule. A predominantly white base provides the foundation, with Fire Red accents adding contrast at key points across the shoe. Exclusive V.A.A. for Nike "MIA HAMM" branding gives the pair its most personal touch, while oversized "AIR" lettering carries Virgil Abloh's signature graphic language into the build without overwhelming the silhouette.
The accompanying apparel takes a considerably bolder direction. Warm-up rugby tops layer patches, stamps, emblems, and graphic sleeve treatments, with VAA branding running throughout. An "ARCH" Swoosh hits the chest as another archive-referencing detail, and the full capsule also includes a Pre-Match Jersey and Anthem Jacket, both rendered in the Team USA palette of White, Deep Royal Blue, and Challenge Red.
The Virgil Abloh Archive x Nike Cryoshot Zoom M9 is set to release on June 11th, 2026 through Virgil Abloh Archive and USA National Team federation retailers for a retail price of $210, followed by Dover Street Market on June 13th and a wider launch via Nike SNKRS on June 16th.
