Vans is keeping the momentum going on its Souvenir series with a washed navy take on the Old Skool 36. The capsule, designed by Greg Betty, became one of Vans' most talked-about releases of 2025 by pulling the classic skate silhouette into a different creative lane altogether. The series draws aesthetic inspiration from the graffitied Chanel On the Pavements Messenger bag, trading the Old Skool's traditional two-tone look for decades-worn textures and a playful, time-collected character.
The upper is built from a faded navy canvas that gives the shoe a pre-worn feel right out of the box. Mismatched fabric placements land on the jazz stripe and tongue piping, while a stitched patchwork design runs across the rest of the upper to reinforce the handmade, assembled-over-time quality the series is known for. Old pins return as well, featuring peace signs, smiley faces, and brand graphics that deepen the vintage souvenir shop mood.
Pre-worn sidewalls carry the distressed treatment down to the sole unit, tying the whole aesthetic together from upper to outsole. The result is a version of the Old Skool that feels distinct from anything in Vans' standard lineup, built around character and patina rather than a clean colorway formula.
The Vans Old Skool 36 Souvenir "Navy" is set to release during Summer 2026 through Vans and select retailers for a retail price of $125. To stay informed on all things Vans and to stay up to date with the latest releases, connect with us on Instagram and Twitter.
