Phil Knight, who happens to be a University of Oregon alumnus and co-founder/chairman of Nike, has maintained a great relationship between the university and the sportswear giant, ensuring that the Ducks' athletic department continues to maintain its high standards.
In 2022, Division Street, a company founded by notable University of Oregon supporters like Phil Knight, launched a new online NFT platform called "Ducks of a Feather" to provide University of Oregon student-athletes with a means of connecting with their fans, supporters, and collectors, as well as empowering them. The collection, called Flying Formations, started with 120 pairs of Duck-themed Air Max 1's, each designed by Tinker Hatfield and assigned to specific NFT owners.
In 2023, Tinker Hatfield was entrusted to design a physical sneaker for the University of Oregon. This Nike Dunk Low player exclusive will feature a gray suede upper with tumbled leather overlays, a black mesh tongue, and a white leather Nike Swoosh on the side panel. The University’s mascot will appear in a multicolored style on the tongue, while Volt accents will be visible on the stitching and sock lining. The shoe will be finished with a white rubber midsole and black outsole, along with an "O" on the heel that represents Oregon.
Unfortunately, the Nike Dunk Low Oregon Ducks Of A Feather will not be released to the public anytime soon. The pair is expected to remain exclusive to student-athletes and staff members, making it best to join the team to have a chance of securing a pair.
