Nike is revealing their 3rd year of the Nike Yardrunners program. Created in 2020, the Yardrunners program has pledged $10 million in scholarships and partnerships to increase interns and hires from HBCU institutions. Founded by HBCU alumni, this program has become a wonderous step forward for Nike and the HBCU community. The Nike Yardrunners program is here to support and celebrate the HBCU community. This year, Nike has collaborated with the HBCU community to aspire others with their stories, deliver products, and scholarships, and build networks with the recruiting team at Nike.
The 2021 Yardrunners collection featured former HBCU student-athletes who have excelled into business professionals in various industries of technology, entertainment, medicine, and science. The 2021 collection featured Nike Blazers and other corresponding accessories. This year's Yardrunners collection will include apparel, accessories, and sneakers.
The Yardrunners 3.0 sneaker collection will feature 4 brand new Nike Dunk Low silhouettes to feature 4 schools: Clark Atlanta University, Tennessee State University, Nord Carolina A&T University, and Florida A&M University. (Images listed in order below)
The Clark Atlanta University Dunk Low features a grey, black, and red color scheme. The University's logo will also be displayed right on the sneaker's tongue, insole, and outsole. You will also find the University's motto: "Find a Way or Make One" written on the laces of the sneaker as well.
The Tennessee State University Dunk Low will stick with features a very colorful blue, white, red, and yellow Dunk Low with TSU's founding year of "1912" stitched into the heel tab.
The North Carolina A&T University Dunk Low will feature a more muted grey and white color scheme with yellow laces and tongue. North Carolina A&T University's logo will also be present on the tongue with the words "Ayantee" on the laces and the founding year of "1891" also stitched into the heel tab with the well-known saying "We Bragg Different" located right on the right heel.
The Florida A&M University Dunk Low will also feature a bright sneaker, with an orange-based color scheme with a forest green swoosh. The school's Rattler head logo will also be present on the sneaker's tongue
The Yardrunners collection of apparel and accessories will also feature a total of 19 HBCUs including a few additions such as Prairie View University, Hampton University, and Grambling State University.
The Nike Yardrunner Sneaker Collection is expected to be released throughout the month of October via Nike SNKRS and other in-store retailers.
