The RTFKT x Nike Dunk Low Genesis Forging Event Starts October 18th
On top of Nike's dotSWOOSH project last November, Nike and RTFKT introduced a special "Dunk Genesis" NFT. RTFKT Studios was acquired by Nike in late 2021, and contributed largely to Nike's contribution in the web3 world. A forging event now has been officially scheduled for the Dunk Genesis taking place from October 18th to October 30th. Holders of the NFT are able to mint up to five sneakers.
This event will feature three new colorways, each sneaker being on-demand. These colorways include the Dunk Genesis "OG", "Void", and "Clone X." If you're planning on minting a pair, you can expect sneakers to start shipping in June 2024. Unfortunately, you're not able to mint a token anymore, however, you can buy it on the secondary market like OpenSea. The floor price is currently sitting around 0.11 ETH ($178) if you want to pick up a token. Each pair of the Dunk Genesis will be priced at $222 in ETH, and only holders of the token will be able to mint.
Currently, we're not sure what the physical sneakers will actually look like. RTFKT teased a prototype back in August, which you can check out below. The sneaker featured the classic Nike Dunk Low look, and a noticeably large, chunky sole. A futuristic look will be found, but color schemes will likely differ.
