75 years is a long time and a special milestone regardless of what you are doing, but when it marks such an anniversary for Porsche, it calls for a special celebration. This year is the 75th anniversary of the iconic automaker and the 60th anniversary of one of the most notable creations, the 911. To celebrate, Porsche teamed up with long-time collaborator Puma for an extraordinary sneaker collection.
The Porsche x Pim collection features four shoes in total but is broken up into two, two-packs. The firs two-pack “Rennsport Reunion 7.” The Puma Mirae Sport Tech trainers were tapped to pay homage to the Porsche Resnnsport Reunion celebration later this month in Monterey, California. The mirage will come in both black and white offerings and is available now via the Porsche Design website for $150.
The second collection pays special tribute to Porsche 911s, both new and old. The “Retro” is designed to harken back to the 1972 Porsche S’s in its original color. The light blue suede evokes the OG design, and the shoe is limited to 1972 individually numbered pairs. The second 911-themed shoe represents the brand's most recent offering of the model and features light blue leather and cognac highlights. The “Heritage” is limited to just 1,963 individually numbered pairs representing the 911’s year of inception. The Puma x Porsche 911 pack is set to go on sale via Porsche on September 6 for $160 each.
