The Nike Shox BB4 OG "Black/Lapis" Returns August 2026

The Nike Shox BB4 OG is making its return in the original "Black/Lapis" colorway for Fall 2026, marking the first time the silhouette has surfaced since its 2019 retro. Designed by Eric Avar for the shoe's 2000 launch and popularized by Vince Carter, the Shox BB4 drew inspiration from space suits and rocket ships, a design language that still reads clearly in the rounded upper, metallic paneling, and mechanical rear cushioning setup.

The build stays true to the original. Black leather covers the toe box, tongue, and eyestays, while metallic silver takes over most of the side panels and heel. Blue accents run along the midsole and appear on the four exposed Shox columns at the rear. Dotted graphics near the toe and midfoot bring back a subtle period detail that collectors who followed the original release will recognize immediately.

The exposed Shox pillars remain the defining feature of the silhouette. Mounted beneath a black midsole with blue trim, the columns give the BB4 the same early-2000s Nike Basketball character that set it apart from every other performance shoe of its era. The combination of the metallic finish and the mechanical heel made the model iconic then, and the same combination makes this retro worth noting now.
